The ceremony was presided over by Agriculture Minister Dith Tina and Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise, Hem Vanndy.
The MoU aims to support and promote the development of a modern agricultural cooperative in Cambodia through the provision of technical assistance from Khmer Enterprise with coordination by the Agriculture Ministry.
As part of this collaboration, the Agriculture Ministry will provide technical support in areas such as cultivation practices, input supplies, machinery and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Khmer Enterprise will focus on enhancing the business skills of the agriculture cooperative through capacity building initiatives.
“The partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and Khmer Enterprise will enhance the development of Modern Agricultural Cooperatives through improved entrepreneurship and management. This collaboration will also foster greater confidence in further investment into the program in the future,” stated Dith Tina.
Hem Vanndy stated that “this signing demonstrates the government’s commitment to modernise Cambodia’s agro-industry and develop business skills for the Agricultural Cooperative to be more efficient in the agro-industry ecosystem.”
The Agriculture Ministry and Khmer Enterprise will establish a technical working group to develop action plans, create a joint evaluation mechanism, provide updates and offer advice to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
